Robert began working as a sleep laboratory technologist in 1983 at the first sleep disorders center in Milwaukee. He trained at Stanford University and, in 1984 became the first Board Registered Polysomnographic Technologist in southeastern Wisconsin.
He has served on the Association of Polysomnographic Technologists Board of Directors, co-founded the Midwest Association of Polysomnographic Technologists, and currently serves on the Education and Regional Affairs Committees of the Association of Polysomnographic Technologists.
Robert co-founded the Midwest Sleep and Neurodiagnostic Institute of Rockford, Illinois, one of the premier training facilities for physicians and technologists in the field of sleep medicine. He held the position of Vice President of Educational Development from 1998 through 2003.
His expertise in the field has brought consultant requests from numerous sleep centers in Wisconsin and northern Illinois. And, for the past 20 years, he has been invited to lecture at many regional, national, and international sleep medicine conferences.
In 1997, he began Sleep Resources, Inc. in order to provide state-of-the-art sleep disorders diagnostic testing services. Sleep Resources, Inc. brings highly trained expert technologists and state-of-the-art equipment to sleep disorders centers in hospitals and clinics including contracts with St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan and St. Joseph’s Community Hospital of West Bend.
